World Creole Music Festival: Dominica’s Creole showcase

The World Creole Music Festival, the WCMF, is Dominica’s great musical gathering: three nights of Creole music in Roseau, every year in October, at the time of the island’s independence celebrations.

Three nights, all the Creole musics

The WCMF brings the musics of the Creole world together on one stage: bouyon and cadence from Dominica, zouk from the French Antilles, kompa from Haiti and guests from the diaspora. For bouyon, it is the biggest international showcase at home.

Bouyon at home

Playing at the WCMF, for a bouyon artist, means playing at home in front of the audience that saw the genre be born. Bouyon Shattaz covers the festival as a strategic moment: that is where the visibility of Dominican artists and the meetings with partners from the Antilles and France are played out. 2026 edition: from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25 at Windsor Park, Roseau.
