DJ Skaylone: ten years of riddims, almost no archive
Published October 20, 2026
DJ Skaylone is a DJ and beatmaker from the French speaking bouyon scene whose verified public record comes down to three objects: an official YouTube channel, titled “DJ SKAYLONE Skay Beats”, where he publishes his bouyon riddim compositions and announces the download link in the description; a platform credit in 2024, “WOOD”, with Tiitii NBA, on HEAVEN STUDIO; and a trace in the tracklists of scene DJ mixes, “No Time”, again with Tiitii NBA. No biography, no interview and no press article were found. This profile therefore publishes those three objects in order, first settles the spelling of his name, which the sources write Skaylone and not Skylone, and states plainly everything the record does not establish.
Skaylone or Skylone: the spelling first, the beatmaker second
The first thing to establish about this artist is the spelling of his name, because the sources leave no doubt and it differs from the address of this page. His own YouTube channel is titled “DJ SKAYLONE Skay Beats”. His video titles write DJ SKAYLONE, in capitals, from “INSTRU BOUYON” to “CHRISMAS SKAY RIDDIM”. Shazam credits “WOOD (feat. DJ SKAYLONE)”. Everywhere the artist or the platforms print his name, there is an A after the SK: Skaylone. This profile therefore uses that verified spelling throughout its text, and keeps the short spelling for the page address alone. A profile that wrote Skylone everywhere would be telling a name the artist never signed.
The channel itself gives the only presentation of the artist written by him that was found during this research, and it fits in one French sentence: DJ and beatmaker, “here you will find all my compositions, some of which are downloadable”, with an “enjoy the music” as a signature. The whole public persona of DJ Skaylone is in that sentence. No town, no claimed crew, no biography: a maker of compositions, part of which can be downloaded. In the bouyon of the 2010s, that format has a name and a function: the instrumental riddim published so DJs can play it and singers can voice it. DJ Skaylone is a producer of that tooling, and his archive is a list of riddims.
He also has to be separated from his tracklist neighbours, because scene mixes line up very close names. DJ Skycee, credited on Miimii “Sé Miimii” and present in the same bouyon podcast tracklists, is another DJ of the same scene, with another spelling and other records. Accounts named SkyLone on other platforms, surfaced by search engines, have no established link with this beatmaker and no fact from them is used here. The DJ Skaylone of this profile is exactly the one from the Skay Beats channel and the “WOOD” credit: nothing more, and this profile prefers that clean perimeter to a portrait inflated with borrowed facts.
The YouTube riddims: instru, trumpet, cho time, respectar
The channel videos YouTube surfaces draw an activity stretching across roughly ten years before this research. The oldest trace shown is “INSTRU BOUYON”, published about ten years ago according to the platform counter, with 16,000 views shown at the time of the research. The title states the function: a bouyon instrumental, with no claimed voice, published as a tool. Then come, about nine years ago, “trumpet riddim”, 12,000 views shown, “CHO TIME RIDDIM”, tagged bouyon, 3,800 views, and “RESPECTAR”, 2,400 views. This profile quotes the counters as YouTube showed them during the research, without turning them into definitive audience figures: they serve only to show that these files travelled well beyond a private circle.
The naming method is already the one the rest of the catalogue will follow. Each riddim takes the name of its hook: the trumpet for “trumpet riddim”, the hot moment for “CHO TIME RIDDIM”, a rallying word for “RESPECTAR”. That is the grammar of Caribbean riddims, inherited from dancehall: the instrumental is a named product, identifiable by DJs in a list and by singers looking for a base. DJ Skaylone works entirely inside that grammar. None of these titles carries a guest artist name in the video titles consulted: the beatmaker signs alone, and the voice will come later, when a singer voices the tool or when the credit moves onto the streaming platforms.
The act of publication matters as much as the titles. Several video titles announce, in capitals, “download link in description”: the riddim is made to be taken, loaded into DJ software or sent to a singer. That free file economy is one of the real infrastructures of French speaking bouyon in the 2010s, between Dominica, where the genre was born, and the French Antilles, where it became a dominant party music. It also explains the poverty of the archive: a producer who distributes his tools as download links under videos builds neither a platform discography nor a press file. When streaming platforms arrive in his path, in 2024, it is through another artist door.
2018, 2019, 2020: Chris Riddim, Guitare Riddim and the Christmas riddims
The titles dated inside their own names allow the sequel to be placed. In 2018, “Chris Riddim”, tagged bouyon, becomes the most viewed video of the channel among those consulted, with 29,000 views shown, and “GUITARE RIDDIM”, also tagged bouyon 2018, shows 5,600. The naming principle is confirmed and tightens around instruments: after the trumpet, the guitar. A bouyon riddim often holds on a short melodic loop, recognisable in two seconds, played on keyboard or synthetic guitar: naming the riddim after its instrument gives DJs the means to ask for it and find it again. This profile does not describe the loops themselves, for lack of a published source that analyses them: it notes the regularity of the system across the verified titles.
In 2019 and 2020, the catalogue takes a seasonal rhythm that the titles alone document. “NOEL RIVE”, tagged bouyon 2019, shows 8,000 views. At the end of 2020, “CHRISMAS SKAY RIDDIM”, for Christmas 2020, again announces the download link in the description and shows 1,600 views. The spelling Chrismas, without the second t, is the one in the published title, and this profile quotes it as it stands in the track list rather than silently correcting it. The fact, in any case, reads clearly: two years running, the beatmaker published a season riddim for the end of year holidays, at the moment when French Antillean bouyon parties run at full speed. The Christmas riddim is a small genre inside the genre, a dated tool made for a few weeks of intense rotation.
After 2020, the videos YouTube surfaces for the channel stop, and this profile words that observation with care: it states what the research found, not that the artist stopped working. A riddim beatmaker can keep travelling as files, messages and mixes without leaving an indexed trace. The next trace in the file is in fact exactly of that nature: not a video, not an article, but a streaming credit and a tracklist line, four years later, alongside the same singer in both cases, Tiitii NBA, one of the most active names in French speaking bouyon.
2024: WOOD with Tiitii NBA, and the No Time trace
On November 22, 2024, Tiitii NBA released “WOOD”, tagged bouyon 2025, on HEAVEN STUDIO, his label of recent years, in French and at 160 BPM according to Shazam, which credits DJ SKAYLONE as featured artist and Terry Capitolin as songwriter. It is the first and, in the file to date, the only DJ Skaylone credit on a major streaming platform. The contrast with the YouTube decade is the central fact of this profile: the same beatmaker who published his tools as free downloads appears, ten years later, in the clean metadata of a streaming single, at the reference tempo of modern bouyon, inside the team of the most structured singer of his scene. The move from the download link to the Shazam credit sums up, at the scale of one name, the professionalisation of a whole scene.
The second trace from this period is more fragile and this profile presents it as such. The tracklists of the Blaqrose Supreme podcast, a bouyon mix published on podcast platforms, list at 37 minutes 15 “Tiitii NBA x Dj Skaylone, No Time Raw”, among records by 1T1, DJ Luchshiy and DJ Skycee. No streaming platform page consulted documents “No Time” with a date, a label or credits comparable to those of “WOOD”. This profile therefore quotes it as a DJ tracklist trace, with its exact title and the Raw mention the tracklist gives it, and places it in the recording list of its schema on that basis only. In a scene where records travel in raw versions inside mixes before they travel as metadata, that difference in status is part of the fact.
The label of “WOOD” also builds a documented bridge to the other producer in this same research wave. HEAVEN STUDIO is the label that released, in the same year 2024, Tiitii NBA “KPT” with DJ Softee as guest: the two beatmakers of the riddim and warm up era therefore meet, without ever being credited on the same record in the file consulted, inside the catalogue of the same Tiitii NBA label. This profile quotes that neighbourhood for what it is, a catalogue fact that can be checked record by record, and not a collaboration between the two DJs, which no source consulted establishes.
Those two 2024 traces also place DJ Skaylone back inside the geography of the genre. Bouyon was born in Dominica, and bouyon soca was started there in 2003 by producer Dada according to the signed testimony of Sean “Smokiller” Francis, a Dominican-born producer and a participant in that era, before being popularised by Triple Kay. The French speaking branch, Guadeloupean and Martinican, built its own infrastructures, among them the downloadable riddim culture the Skay Beats channel documents. Working with Tiitii NBA, an artist of that branch and founder of his own label, is for a YouTube era beatmaker the documented junction between the two periods of the same sound. Our history of bouyon page tells that path of the genre, from Roseau to the parties of the French Antilles.
What this profile does not know, and why this page exists
The limits of the file have to be named one by one. No source consulted gives DJ Skaylone full name, his island or town, his age, or the exact start of his activity before the oldest video YouTube shows. No interview, no press article and no streaming platform artist page under his own name were found during this research. No social account was verified as his: the only external link on this page is his official YouTube channel, opened and verified during the research, because linking the wrong account among the many Skys and Skays of the web would be worse than linking nothing else.
This page exists in spite of those blanks, and even because of them. The history of French speaking bouyon was not only written in studios and on stages: it was also written in download links under riddim videos, season after season, by beatmakers whose names live only in capital letter titles. DJ Skaylone is a documented case of that layer of the scene: roughly ten years of riddims named after their instruments, two Christmas riddims, then, in 2024, a streaming credit alongside Tiitii NBA. Gathering those traces, settling the spelling of his name and separating his verified records from his tracklist trace is writing his history with the only honest materials available.
To hear the sound in which these riddims make sense, our bouyon playlist gathers bouyon, bouyon soca and new releases from Dominica and the French Antilles followed by Bouyon Shattaz, and our bouyon soca page tells the producer branch of the genre. Start with “WOOD” for the streaming credit, and with “Chris Riddim” for the most viewed video on the channel. If DJ Skaylone or his team confirm an identity, an origin or official accounts, this profile will be completed and dated like every page on this site.

Frequently asked questions
Is it Skylone or Skaylone?
Skaylone, with an A after the SK. That is the spelling of his own YouTube channel, titled DJ SKAYLONE Skay Beats, the spelling of all his video titles, and the spelling of the Shazam credit of “WOOD” with Tiitii NBA in 2024. The short spelling Skylone survives only in the address of this page. No source consulted prints the name without the A.
Who is DJ Skaylone?
DJ Skaylone is a DJ and beatmaker from the French speaking bouyon scene, who presents himself as a DJ and beatmaker publishing all his compositions, some of them downloadable, on his YouTube channel Skay Beats. His verified record includes his YouTube riddims, from “INSTRU BOUYON” to the Christmas riddims of 2019 and 2020, and a streaming credit in 2024, “WOOD” with Tiitii NBA. The public record consulted establishes neither his full name nor his origin.
What is DJ Skaylone most viewed riddim?
Among the videos of his channel consulted during this research, “Chris Riddim”, tagged bouyon and dated 2018 in its title, shows the highest counter, 29,000 views at the time of the research, ahead of “INSTRU BOUYON”, 16,000 views, and “trumpet riddim”, 12,000 views. This profile quotes those counters as YouTube showed them, as orders of magnitude of circulation.
Where can the DJ Skaylone riddims be downloaded?
On his official YouTube channel, when the video title announces it. Several of his videos, including “CHRISMAS SKAY RIDDIM” for Christmas 2020, state “download link in description”, and the channel presentation says that some of his compositions are downloadable. This site does not rehost those files: it documents the practice, which is one of the historical infrastructures of French speaking bouyon.
Is “No Time” an official DJ Skaylone single?
Not according to the pages consulted, and that is the point quick profiles miss. “No Time”, listed as “Tiitii NBA x Dj Skaylone, No Time Raw”, appears in the tracklists of the Blaqrose Supreme podcast, a bouyon mix, but no streaming platform page found documents it with a date or a label. This profile therefore files it as a DJ tracklist trace, separate from the verified streaming credit of “WOOD”.
Where can I hear the bouyon of the DJ Skaylone scene?
Start with “WOOD”, by Tiitii NBA with DJ SKAYLONE, released on November 22, 2024 on HEAVEN STUDIO, and with the riddims on his YouTube channel, then hear our bouyon playlist, which gathers bouyon, bouyon soca and new releases from Dominica and the French Antilles followed by Bouyon Shattaz.
