Kwib La Beats: the producer name behind Rum and the Up Next Cypher

Published October 20, 2026

Kwib La Beats is a credit name in Dominica current bouyon wave, and this profile treats it exactly as the sources give it: a producer name, sometimes a lead artist, sometimes a maker of riddims, with no public biography behind it. Three Shazam pages opened for this page credit it as producer of “Rum”, the Trixzmigos record with Hussey and Poyzin released on February 7, 2025, and of BRG Hollywood “Pocket Rocket”, and as lead artist of “You Broke Me First (Bouyon)” in 2023. In October 2026, BuzzDA places it on the instrumental of Trilla-G “Up Next Cypher, Vol. 1”, the project that put six young Dominican voices on a single beat. This file follows those credits one by one, reproduces the only sentence that links a civil name to the producer name without inflating it, and states clearly what remains unknown.

One name, three credit forms: producer, lead artist, riddim

Kwib La Beats appears in the public archive under three distinct credit forms, and telling them apart is the first task of this profile. First form: the classic production credit, at the bottom of the page, in the production and engineering section of other artists records. That is the case on “Rum” by Trixzmigos and on “Pocket Rocket” by BRG Hollywood, two pages where the name does not sing or rap, but signs the sound. Second form: the lead artist, top billed on its own single, “You Broke Me First (Bouyon)”, released under its name in 2023. Third form: the riddim maker, those named instrumentals that travel from mix to mix, and which the tracklist of an NTS radio programme lists three at a time in June 2025.

The three forms describe the real job of today bouyon producer. He builds for other people voices, he sometimes releases a record under his own name, often a bouyon take on a pop format, and he keeps a stock of riddims that DJs and foreign selectors come to draw from. None of that requires a public biography, and Kwib La Beats has none: no page consulted gives an age, a background, a place of residence, or a photograph. The name moves alone, carried by the credits, which is exactly the situation of many producers on this scene, documented on this site, page after page, in its bouyon producers profiles.

One method point before the detail: this profile will never merge the two Shanes of the cypher project. The BuzzDA launch article credits the production to “Shane Massicott of Kwib La Beats”, and the same article credits the video to Shane St. Claire, of Sois Génial Multimedia. Two identical first names, two people, two different jobs in the same text. The sentence about Shane Massicott is, to date, the only link between a civil name and the name Kwib La Beats in the sources opened for this file. It is reproduced here as written, as a link reported by BuzzDA, and not as an identity equation this site would assert on its own: the text says “of Kwib La Beats”, which can mean the member, the founder or the representative of a small beats operation, and no other source consulted settles the question.

The territory, though, can be read without forcing it. The projects carrying the name are Dominican: Trixzmigos and Trilla-G are names of the Dominica scene, the cypher is a Still Trill Entertainment project presented as a platform for the island next generation, and an older YouTube trace, “Fresh & Clean”, links the name to Earlkaline with the words “dominica #767” in its description, the island area code. This profile therefore places Kwib La Beats in the Dominican wave, through its documented collaborations, without assigning it a personal origin that no source publishes.

“Rum”: the best documented production credit

The central credit of the file is “Rum”, by Trixzmigos featuring Hussey and Poyzin, released on February 7, 2025 on LTG RECORDS, in English, at 160 BPM. The Shazam page of the record, opened for this profile, gives the full split of roles: Trixz Migos, Hussey and Poyzin on vocals, four names on the writing, Alexander Tafari Darroux, Kymone Hussey 6ix, Poyzin Nina Corriette and Chrissie Lewis Apple, as the page prints them, and, in the production and engineering section, a single name: Kwib La Beats, Producer. On a record where everything else is collective, the production is signed by one credit, which makes the trace clean and checkable.

The record is no catalogue filler. On the Trixzmigos artist page on Shazam, “Rum” sits among the group most streamed songs, right behind the peak “What She Like”. The group is the Dominican new wave act that was a finalist twice at the Dominica Music Awards 2025, and “Rum” belongs to its 2025 run of singles, between “Dark Love” and “Doh Mix Me”. Being the sole credited producer of one of the most streamed records of such a group, at the moment that group holds the scene attention, is the strongest fact in the Kwib La Beats file, and that is why this profile opens with it.

The tempo deserves a note, because it repeats. “Rum” is measured at 160 BPM by Shazam. “Pocket Rocket”, the other verified production credit in the file, is also at 160 BPM. And “You Broke Me First (Bouyon)”, the own name record, is also at 160 BPM. Three pages, three different projects, one tempo: 160 BPM is the cruising tempo of the current bouyon single, the one on the DJ Luchshiy pages as on this Dominican wave pages, and all three Kwib La Beats credits sit inside it without exception. That is not a proven personal signature, it is a genre constant, but it shows a producer working at the centre of the format, not at its edge.

Read the group full path on our Trixzmigos page, and its lead guest voice on our Hussey page, which documents the run of features record by record.

The own name record: “You Broke Me First (Bouyon)” in 2023

The oldest trace in the file is a lead name single. “You Broke Me First (Bouyon)”, credited to Kwib La Beats featuring Marshee, was released on September 11, 2023 on 5269234 Records DK, in English, at 160 BPM. The Shazam page opened for this profile credits Marshee, written marshee in lower case on the page, as songwriter, and gives no other composition or production credit. The title itself is a programme: a well known English language pop song, recut in bouyon format, with the word bouyon in brackets in the official title, like a genre flag planted on the page.

The label also says something about the economics of that release. 5269234 Records DK is one of those numbered labels generated by automatic distribution of the DistroKid type: a number, the word Records, the distributor initials. Hundreds of bouyon singles from the islands and the diaspora appear under those disposable banners, which are neither houses nor brands, just the administrative line of an upload. The contrast with the later credits in the file is instructive: in 2025, the same producer name works for LTG RECORDS on “Rum” and for BankrollGang on “Pocket Rocket”, named banners tied to artists and catalogues. Between 2023 and 2025, the readable path is that of a beatmaker who moved from the numbered self release to production work for identified structures.

That 2023 single also fixes the grammar of the name. Kwib La Beats presents itself from this first trace as a beats name, in the English plural, built for streaming pages: the title carries the genre, the feature carries the voice, and the artist name carries the function. The guest voice, Marshee, is credited as the writer of the record, which draws the usual division of labour of this format: writing and singing on one side, the bouyon machine on the other. No source consulted says whether Kwib La Beats released other lead name records before or after this one, and this profile assumes none: in the opened archive, this single is, to date, the only top billed record under the name.

“Pocket Rocket”: the bridge to BRG Hollywood in 2025

The second verified production credit in the file changes circle. “Pocket Rocket”, by BRG Hollywood, was released on April 16, 2025 on BankrollGang, at 160 BPM. The Shazam page of the record credits BRG Hollywood on vocals, Jaheim M Meyers as songwriter, and Kwib La Beats as producer, in the same production and engineering section as on “Rum”. Two months after “Rum”, the same producer name therefore signs the single of another artist of the Dominican wave, under another banner: the trace is no longer an isolated hit, it becomes a practice.

BRG Hollywood is a neighbouring name to Trixzmigos in the platforms own algorithms: the Trixzmigos artist page on Shazam lists him among its similar artists, alongside DJ Taffy and Trilla-G. The small Dominican scene of the bouyon single works in a short circuit: a limited number of voices, producers and studios, rotating from page to page. In that circuit, Kwib La Beats holds the place of the producer called by at least two distinct headliners in a single season, Trixzmigos in February 2025 and BRG Hollywood in April 2025, which is, for a name with no biography and no promotion, a form of written reputation: the reputation of the credits themselves.

The path of the produced artist is read on our BRG Hollywood page. Hold here the structure of the credit, identical on both 2025 records: one named writer, one or more named voices, and a single producer, Kwib La Beats, with no co-producer. On scenes where pages happily stack three or four production names, that sobriety makes the file easier to follow, and each new credit more readable than the last.

The Up Next Cypher: one instrumental for six voices, and its fallout

The most visible project in the file arrives in October 2026. Trilla-G “Up Next Cypher, Vol. 1”, released on October 2 through Still Trill Entertainment according to the BuzzDA interview, brings together six emerging Dominican voices, G'z Up, Ras B, Avatar Omish, Don Lash, Pa Pel and Pryhmex, alongside Trilla-G himself, on a production of almost ten minutes. BuzzDA describes the project as a platform: one record, one microphone, one chance for each artist to introduce himself. And under the six voices there is a single instrumental: the one by Kwib La Beats, with ThaWizZarD on lead keys, mixing and mastering, according to the official video description and the BuzzDA interview.

The two BuzzDA articles opened for this profile give the credit in two forms that complete each other, and this profile quotes both without merging them. The launch article writes: “Produced by Shane Massicott of Kwib La Beats”, with ThaWizZarD on mixing and mastering. The interview, for its part, writes that the production features “an instrumental by Kwib La Beats”, with ThaWizZarD handling the keys, the mixing and the mastering. The official video description settles it plainly: “Produced by Kwib La Beats”. The name of the production project is therefore constant from source to source; only the launch article attaches a person name to it, and it is that precise link, no more and no less, that this file reports.

The reception reported by BuzzDA gives the scale of the project: the number one spot on the Apple Music Top Songs chart in Dominica and 83,000 YouTube views in one week, according to the site, figures reported as its own and not rechecked by this profile. The video was shot at The Lot Bar and Grill, filmed and edited by Sois Génial Multimedia, and the launch article states that the camera was held by Shane St. Claire: this is where care with first names matters, because a hurried reader could melt the Shane of the production and the Shane of the video into one person. The texts do not do that, and this profile does not either.

The cypher produced immediate fallout, and it carries the same credit. G'z Up, whom BuzzDA presents as the breakout of the project with his “Ya Ya Ya” hook, released an extended solo version of his verse, “FIX UP (Ya Ya Ya)”, whose official description credits the writing and performance to G'z Up, the production to Kwib La Beats and ThaWizZarD, the mixing and mastering to ThaWizZarD, and the executive production to Trilla-G. Pa Pel released “IDGAF” on his side, with exactly the same production line: Kwib La Beats and ThaWizZarD, Trilla-G as executive producer, and Shan GrapArt on the artwork of both records. The cypher instrumental thus became a small production line: one platform beat, then solo singles built by the same pair of producers, under the same Still Trill banner. Trilla-G confirmed to BuzzDA that a second volume will follow; if Kwib La Beats returns on it, this profile will be updated and dated.

The riddims travel, and the limits of the file

The third form of the name, the riddim, travelled the furthest. On June 6, 2025, Rozaly programme on NTS radio, a Netherlands based researcher and DJ from Curaçao according to the show page, lines up in its tracklist three consecutive Kwib La Beats titles: “Anyhow It Goes Riddim”, “Sad Piano Riddim” and “Holy Moley Riddim”. The show accompanied the release of his compilation “Road Fever” on Soundway Records, and the selection mixes riddims from across the Caribbean, from Fr3eze to Dnyze Muzik. That three instrumentals by a Dominican producer with no public biography hold three consecutive lines of such a tracklist says the essential about riddim circulation: they travel without their author, through the hands of selectors, and their file name becomes their identity.

On this site, that circulation is the subject of our bouyon riddim page: one named instrumental, taken up, mixed, and sometimes voiced by several artists. The three titles of the NTS tracklist are carried in the structured data of this page as Kwib La Beats recordings, because the show page, opened for this profile, attributes them to it by name. No commercial release page for these three riddims was found during this research: no verified date, label or duration. They are therefore presented here for what they are in the documents, tracklist titles, and not as singles.

The oldest and most fragile trace in the file points the same way. A YouTube video titled “Fresh & Clean (Earlkaline, Kwib la beats) prod. Kwib la beats”, whose description carries the words “dominica #767”, links the name to the artist Earlkaline. This profile mentions it as a YouTube title trace, nothing more: the video is not carried in the structured data, no commercial release date is claimed, and the spelling of the title, “Kwib la beats” in lower case, is the video own. It suggests activity by the name before 2023 in the Dominican orbit, without allowing anything more to be written.

The limits of the file are therefore clear, and they close this profile as they opened it. No biography, no interview with the producer, no official account verified by direct opening during this research: the sameAs list in the structured data of this page is empty, deliberately, and the statistics aggregators consulted for discovery do not appear in it. What exists, and what is enough to justify this page, is a bundle of converging primary credits: sole producer of “Rum”, lead artist of a 2023 bouyon single, producer of “Pocket Rocket”, instrumentalist of the most covered Dominican cypher of autumn 2026, and author of three riddims played on NTS. Listening follows that bundle, and the context is read in our bouyon playlist and on the page of Trilla-G, the artist who turned his instrumental into a platform.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Kwib La Beats?

A credit name in the Dominican bouyon wave, documented as a producer, as the lead artist of a 2023 single and as a riddim author. No public biography was found during this research. The only link to a person name comes from the BuzzDA launch article on the Up Next Cypher, which writes “Produced by Shane Massicott of Kwib La Beats”: this profile reproduces that wording as a link reported by BuzzDA, without claiming a full identity that the other sources do not confirm.

What is the best documented Kwib La Beats credit?

The production of “Rum”, by Trixzmigos featuring Hussey and Poyzin, released on February 7, 2025 on LTG RECORDS. The Shazam page of the record, opened for this profile, credits it alone in production and engineering, at 160 BPM, with Trixz Migos, Hussey and Poyzin on vocals and four named writers. “Rum” stands among the most streamed Trixzmigos songs on Shazam.

Has Kwib La Beats released a record under its own name?

Yes, one verified single: “You Broke Me First (Bouyon)”, featuring Marshee, released on September 11, 2023 on 5269234 Records DK, in English, at 160 BPM. The Shazam page credits Marshee as songwriter. No other lead artist record was confirmed during this research.

What is its role in Trilla-G Up Next Cypher?

It signs the instrumental of the almost ten minute production released on October 2 through Still Trill Entertainment, which brings together G'z Up, Ras B, Avatar Omish, Don Lash, Pa Pel and Pryhmex alongside Trilla-G. ThaWizZarD holds the lead keys, the mixing and the mastering. Kwib La Beats then co-produces, with ThaWizZarD, the solo singles that came out of the cypher, “FIX UP” by G'z Up and “IDGAF” by Pa Pel.

Where can its riddims be heard?

The tracklist of Rozaly programme on NTS, on June 6, 2025, lines up three instrumentals under its name: “Anyhow It Goes Riddim”, “Sad Piano Riddim” and “Holy Moley Riddim”, in a Caribbean selection tied to the Soundway Records compilation Road Fever. No commercial release page for these three riddims was found: to date they are tracklist titles documented by the show page.

Why is this profile so short on the person?

Because the sources are. No interview, no biography, and no official account verified by direct opening were confirmed during this research, and the sameAs list of this page is therefore empty. This profile publishes what can be checked, the credits opened page by page, and states its limits instead of filling them: if the producer one day publishes an official presentation, the page will be completed and dated.
