Gringo Jay: an urbano latino rapper who entered bouyon through Guadeloupe
Published October 20, 2026
Gringo Jay is a singer and rapper whom Shazam classifies as urbano latino, with a catalog of singles in Spanish running from 2020 to 2026, from “SPACESHIP” to “BAMBAM”. He appears on a bouyon site for one precise and documented reason: “ANDOLOKO”, the single by the Guadeloupe workshop D.O.C FIX DEM on which he sings as a feature, is the second most streamed record on his artist page. Two more records tie him to the francophone world: “LEAN BACK” with Banklaady in 2025 and “La petite m’a dit” with Novy in 2026, his most streamed record at the time of research. No biography and no origin are published in the opened sources. This profile follows his catalog year by year, reads “ANDOLOKO” closely, tracks the names that return in his credits, and says exactly where the file stops.
The portrait his artist page gives: a catalog, not a biography
The Gringo Jay artist page on Shazam, opened for this research, gives a frame and nothing more: a genre tag, Urbano latino, a counter of about 1,160 identifications at the time of opening, a list of most streamed songs and a complete discography by year. No biography text, no artist links and no socials are published there. Everything this profile can say about him therefore comes from his song listings and their credits, exactly as with the studio voices of bouyon gwada that this site documents in the same wave.
The most streamed list already draws the character. At the top, “La petite m’a dit”, the French duo with Novy released in September 2026. In second place, “ANDOLOKO”, the feature for D.O.C FIX DEM. Then come his lead name records, “BAMBAM”, “ESUNAMALA”, “BOUGETONASS” with BLUE B, “VAMOSPALOTEL”, “BENDICIÓNES” and “CAMBIO”, then a second feature, “LEAN BACK” by Banklaady, and “LEDIJENO”. Two of the three most exposed records on his page are therefore collaborations, and the first of them is not in Spanish: the showcase of Gringo Jay is more collective and more francophone than his genre tag suggests.
The discography, for its part, is that of a singles artist. The page lists releases from 2020, “Deja de J***r” and “Después Del Guayateo”, then at least two records a year up to the seven pieces of 2026. Only one long format appears in the whole list: the “CIEL GRIS” EP of 2023, joined in 2026 by an object with a misleading title, “Gringojay the album 2026”, which the page files among the singles and EPs without presenting it as a full album. No single label structures the whole: his opened listings pass through ESKALERA, OGBC, a distribution banner with a numbered name, and the labels of his hosts.
On his own listings, his role is credited with constancy: Rap on “CAMBIO” and on “BAMBAM”, vocals on “BOUGETONASS” and “BENDICIÓNES”. He is therefore a singing rapper of the urbano, in the sense the platforms use the word, a Latin urban current fed by reggaeton, trap and dancehall, without the opened sources attaching Gringo Jay to any city or country scene in particular. That absence of a published anchor is a fact of the file, not a detail: it returns in the last section.
“ANDOLOKO”: the feature that ties him to the FIX DEM workshop
“ANDOLOKO” is credited to D.O.C FIX DEM as lead name, with Gringo Jay as a feature. D.O.C FIX DEM is the Guadeloupe bouyon workshop this site documents on its own page: a name that signs records, productions and a label, FIX DEM, with a stable team led by Landry Mette on writing and production, and rotating voices such as Billy BYBF, LGC and Judi Silva. It is therefore a bouyon workshop opening its catalog to an urbano latino voice, and not a bouyon artist trying out Spanish: the direction of the collaboration is clear in the credits.
The song page, opened for this research, publishes the full lyrics, and they carry the singer signature from the first line: “Otra vez el Gringo”, the Gringo once again, then a shout to his host, “Dimelo D.O.C”. The text is in Spanish, built on the title word, repeated in blocks, with dance lines in English, “Shake your body mami”, slipped into the hook. The end of the record unfolds the wordplay the name compresses: “ando loco”, I am crazy, chanted until it becomes “Loqui-Lokazo”. The title is therefore a sung portmanteau word, and its main language is Spanish from end to end, which makes it, in the D.O.C FIX DEM catalog documented on this site, a piece apart: the other verified records of the workshop are in French or filed in English by the platforms.
What the opened page does not give, this profile does not invent. The page consulted carries a June 2026 publication date for its lyrics page, but it does not present the full release header of the other listings: no label, no BPM and no formal release date appear there, and no equivalent listing was found on another platform during this research. “ANDOLOKO” is therefore documented here by three solid facts: its title line, D.O.C FIX DEM with Gringo Jay as a feature; its published lyrics, in Spanish, opened by the tag of the singer; and its place, second most streamed record on the Gringo Jay artist page at the time of research. Its exact release date and its label remain open questions of the file.
The genre context gives this feature its reach. Bouyon was born in Dominica and Guadeloupe is its second home, with an economy of workshops and fast singles retraced on our bouyon Guadeloupe page; its soca branch, bouyon soca, was started by Dada in 2003 in Dominica, according to the first hand testimony of Sean “Smokiller” Francis, Dominican-born, and popularised by Triple Kay, as our bouyon soca page documents. That a workshop of that lineage invites an urbano latino voice in Spanish, and that the record becomes one of the most streamed of both catalogs concerned, says something about the current stage of the genre: the bouyon gwada of the 2020s also looks for its crossings toward Caribbean Latin America, through features, record by record.
The lead name catalog: from 2020 to “BAMBAM”
The discography opened on his artist page begins in 2020 with two singles, “Deja de J***r”, with a title censored by the platforms themselves, and “Después Del Guayateo”. The years 2021 and 2022 install a first recurring collaboration: Drogo The Crow features on “Veinte” and “Perfíl Criminal” in 2021, then on “Chanel O Fendi” in 2022, the year of “SPACESHIP”. In 2023, the single “CULOPATRA” and the EP “CIEL GRIS”, the only long format of the list, precede a “CULOPATRA RMX” with Kimy LQ and Trebiz, which the discography places between its 2024 and 2023 entries. In 2024, “LEDIJENO” and “ESUNABANDI”, featuring Hydi, complete the first half of the catalog.
The year 2025 is the dense year, and its opened listings allow it to be told record by record. “LEAN BACK”, where he is the guest of Banklaady, comes out on January 10, 2025 in the album “MONEY IN THE BANK”, on NOVA CORP. “CAMBIO”, under his lead name, follows on January 29, 2025 on OGBC, filed as Hip-Hop/Rap by Shazam, in Spanish, at 80 BPM, with a single identification counted when its page was opened: a slow rap record, at the opposite end from the dance regime of his other singles. “BENDICIÓNES” comes out on April 20, 2025 under the numbered banner 2176722 Records DK2. “VAMOSPALOTEL” is listed among the singles of 2025, with a lyrics page dated July 11, 2025. “BOUGETONASS”, with BLUE B, comes out on October 17, 2025 on ESKALERA, in Spanish, at 127 BPM. “ESUNAMALA” closes the run in the 2025 lists, with a lyrics page dated October 31, 2025.
The year 2026 extends the rhythm instead of slowing it. “BAMBAM” comes out on February 27, 2026 on ESKALERA, in Spanish, at 115 BPM, with Gringo Jay credited on rap. The discography adds “Amenazan”, “No me abandones”, “La para”, featuring Titanium, “No me llores”, and the object titled “Gringojay the album 2026”. Then, on September 26, 2026, “La petite m’a dit”, the duo with Novy on the Novy label, in French, becomes the most recent record of the list and, at the time of research, the most streamed on his page. In seven years of listed discography, Gringo Jay therefore never slowed down: around twenty singles, one EP, and a clear acceleration in 2025 and 2026.
The titles themselves tell a writing style. Several are phrases compressed into one word, and their own lyrics decompress them: “VAMOSPALOTEL” unfolds in its hook, “de la disco nos vamos al hotel”, from the club we go to the hotel; “LEDIJENO” unfolds in its catch line, “Le dije no”, I told her no, repeated in a loop; “ESUNAMALA” and “ESUNABANDI” play on the same formula, una mala, una bandida, a bad one, a bandit, which the opened hooks chant. It is a signature of social era urbano: the title as a slogan, written to be remembered before it is even heard.
Three languages, two regimes: Spanish first, French later
The base language of the catalog is Spanish, beyond discussion in the opened listings: “BAMBAM”, “BOUGETONASS”, “CAMBIO” and “BENDICIÓNES” are all filed in Spanish by Shazam, “ANDOLOKO” publishes Spanish lyrics, and the lead name titles are Spanish from “SPACESHIP” to “No me llores”. English appears only in touches, in the dance lines of “ANDOLOKO” and in the title “LEAN BACK”. French, for its part, arrives through the collaborations, and that is what ties this catalog to the readership of this site: two records, a year and a half apart, both as a feature or a duo.
The first is “LEAN BACK”, by Banklaady, in the album “MONEY IN THE BANK” released on January 10, 2025 on NOVA CORP. Its listing files it in French, at 95 BPM, under the Hip-Hop/Rap tag, with a single Shazam identification counted at opening: a discreet record in numbers, but decisive in the file, because it proves the voice of Gringo Jay was already circulating in a francophone catalog a year and a half before “La petite m’a dit”. The second is that duo with Novy, released on September 26, 2026, in French, which became his most streamed record on Shazam. Between the two, the “ANDOLOKO” feature adds Spanish sung for a Guadeloupe host: the francophone path of Gringo Jay therefore passes through three different houses, none of them his own.
The opened tempos confirm the regime gap with bouyon. The Gringo Jay listings give 80 BPM for “CAMBIO”, 95 BPM for “LEAN BACK”, 115 BPM for “BAMBAM” and 127 BPM for “BOUGETONASS”: a band of mid tempo rap and urbano, far below the 160 BPM that structures the bouyon singles documented on this site, as our page on bouyon BPM shows. In other words, when D.O.C FIX DEM invites him, it is indeed his voice and his writing that enter the catalog of the workshop, not his musical regime: the crossing is vocal and linguistic before it is rhythmic, and that is exactly why it deserves a page here rather than a single line in the profile of his host.
His vocal signature, for its part, crosses the languages. “Otra vez el Gringo” opens “ANDOLOKO” for D.O.C FIX DEM and closes “ESUNAMALA” under his lead name; inside “ESUNAMALA”, he names himself “Soy El Gringo Al Capone”, I am the Gringo Al Capone, and the lyrics credit a “JD produciendo”, JD on production. The word Gringo therefore works as a brand tag, repeated from one catalog to another, at his hosts as at home. This profile reports that tag as an element of his published texts, without turning it into identity information: a sung stage nickname states neither a nationality nor an origin, and no opened source gives them elsewhere.
The credits that return: Joseph Soliman, JD, Genius Beats
As in the bouyon files of this wave, the truth of the Gringo Jay catalog is in its credits, and one name returns there with remarkable regularity. Joseph Soliman Tamara Butrón is credited as songwriter of “CAMBIO” in January 2025, of “BOUGETONASS” in October 2025 and of “BAMBAM” in February 2026: the three lead name listings opened for this research carry the same writer, under the same full form. Around him, production rotates: JD27 produces “BOUGETONASS”, Blunty co produces “BAMBAM”, Benga Television is credited as engineer on “CAMBIO”, and the lyrics of “ESUNAMALA” name a JD on production, a short form that answers the JD27 of the “BOUGETONASS” listing without any source consulted confirming they are the same person.
The record “BENDICIÓNES” offers the necessary counterpoint. On that listing, the writing is credited to Gringo Jay himself and to Genius Beats, who also produces the record. The platforms therefore do write “Gringo Jay” in the songwriter section when they mean to, which makes the Joseph Soliman Tamara Butrón case exactly what it is: a distinct writer in the credits, present on three records, and whom no opened source nominally ties to the performer. This profile presents him as the recurring writer of the catalog, and stops there.
The “La petite m’a dit” listing adds an echo this profile flags without resolving it. Its performers are Novy and Gringo Jay, but its sections add two voices, Yvon Abale and Josef Soliman, and its writing is credited to Yvon Abale and Josef Soliman. The first name and surname, Josef Soliman, answer closely the Joseph Soliman Tamara Butrón of the three other listings, without being spelled identically. No source consulted says whether those two forms designate the same person, or whether either of them is Gringo Jay himself. The file therefore keeps three separate forms, Joseph Soliman Tamara Butrón the writer, Josef Soliman the voice and writer of the duo with Novy, and Gringo Jay the performer, until a source ties them or separates them cleanly.
Taken together, these credits draw the same economy as that of the bouyon workshops: a performer in the shop window, a stable writer behind the lead name records, producers rotating from single to single, and different houses according to the periods, OGBC and the numbered banner in 2025, ESKALERA on “BOUGETONASS” and “BAMBAM”, NOVA CORP and Novy for the francophone hosts. The difference with the gwada voices of this wave is that Gringo Jay, for his part, holds the lead name on the majority of his records: his file is that of a catalog artist, not of a guest voice, and his francophone collaborations are documented excursions, not his condition.
Limits of the file: no biography, no published origin
The limits of the Gringo Jay file hold in three absences, which this profile states clearly. First absence: no biography. Neither his artist page, which publishes no text, nor any opened listing tells a path, a training or a meeting. Second absence: no origin. No source consulted gives his country, his city or his nationality, and this profile attributes none to him. The Guadeloupe in the title of this page names his connection to bouyon, the workshop that invited him on “ANDOLOKO”, and not his place of origin, which stays unpublished. Third absence: no verified official account. No social profile and no video channel of Gringo Jay were confirmed by opening during this research; the structured data of this page therefore carries only his Shazam artist page, the only one verified by direct opening.
Two details of his own texts deserve to be held at their right place, because they could mislead a hurried reader. In “LEDIJENO”, he sings “Tengo un pana Domi”, I have a Dominican friend: the line speaks of a friend, not of himself, and it does not make Gringo Jay a Dominican. In “ESUNAMALA”, the “morena de Argentina”, the brunette from Argentina, is the character of the record, not an indication about the singer. Neither of those lines establishes an origin, and this profile quotes them only to prevent the wrong reading they could inspire.
Disambiguation is part of the limits. The searches cross at least two neighbouring names that are not this artist: BenElGringo, credited as a feature on “Groupie” by HotSpanish, is a different name, and the German rapper billed simply as Gringo, present in European streaming catalogs, has no relation to the urbano latino discography documented here. The Gringo Jay of this page is only the one of the Shazam artist page opened for this research and of its listings: urbano latino, in Spanish, with the two francophone excursions and the bouyon feature told above.
If an official biography, a published origin or verified accounts one day appear, this profile will be completed and dated like every page on this site. In the meantime, listening starts with “La petite m’a dit” and “ANDOLOKO”, his two most streamed records, continues with the 2025 run, “CAMBIO”, “BENDICIÓNES”, “VAMOSPALOTEL”, “BOUGETONASS” and “ESUNAMALA”, then with “BAMBAM” and “LEDIJENO”, and the bouyon context of his feature is read on the D.O.C FIX DEM and D0 Production pages, as well as in our bouyon playlist, which follows the crossings of the gwada scene.

It continues with the run of features with Drogo The Crow in 2021 and 2022, “CULOPATRA” and the “CIEL GRIS” EP in 2023, “LEDIJENO” and “ESUNABANDI” in 2024, five singles and one feature in 2025, and seven listed pieces in 2026, among them “BAMBAM” and “La petite m’a dit”.
In which languages does Gringo Jay sing?
Mainly in Spanish: every lead name listing opened is filed in Spanish, and “ANDOLOKO” publishes Spanish lyrics. Two records carry him in French: “LEAN BACK”, where he is the guest of Banklaady in January 2025, and “La petite m’a dit”, the duo with Novy of September 2026, which became his most streamed record on Shazam. English appears only in isolated lines, such as the “Shake your body mami” of “ANDOLOKO”.
Where does Gringo Jay come from?
No source consulted says it. Neither his artist page nor his listings publish a country, a city or a nationality, and this profile attributes none to him. His line “Tengo un pana Domi” in “LEDIJENO” speaks of a Dominican friend, not of himself. The Guadeloupe quoted in the title of this page is the place of his connection to bouyon, the D.O.C FIX DEM workshop, not a documented origin.
